What is so important about Second Degree?

Reiki 'Second Degree' provides you with ways of deepening and intensifying your experience of Reiki and allows you to move your Reiki on to a new level. There is so much more to Reiki than you can experience at First Degree! You are missing a wonderful experience if you decide not to complete part two of the course, and that is why most people nowadays do both parts of their training. Second Degree isn't just for those who wish to work professionally it can also enhance your own personal development with Reiki.

Strengthen your connection to Reiki

'Second Degree' brings the student up to 'practitioner' level, and the three Japanese empowerments that I give students enable you to 'hold' and channel more energy than was possible at First Degree. The empowerments also provide a stronger connection to aspects of the energy that are represented by the Reiki symbols. You will learn how to use the three Reiki symbols and mantras, which can be used as a basis for self-treatment, and which helps to make your treatments stronger and more effective, as well as teaching some other simple and inspiring approaches from Japan.

Symbols, symbols, symbols…

The day will start by reviewing what has happened to the students since their First Degree course, which would have been taken a month or two before: what have they noticed when they have been treating people, what feedback have they had from those they have been working on, and what changes have they noticed within themselves? To introduce the symbols, we go over the information that students read in the study pack and deal with any questions you might have. A explanation on the symbols and the different ways they can be used is given. The morning is then split into three sessions, each one preceded by an empowerment. Students are introduced to each energy/state in turn and guided through a variety of exercises that help you to get to grips with, and fully experience, the characteristic qualities of each energy. Students partner up and will start using the symbols on each other, to feel their effects, and I will explain the different ways that the symbols can be used to treat others. The final part of the morning is spent by talking about distant healing, and then practising sending Reiki at a distance. Students also learn how to use the distant healing concept or energy state to generate a state of oneness, encouraging students to be more present in the moment.

Please note that I teach the symbols to be used in the way that Usui Sensei taught his students to work with the energies. Often in the west people are given the symbols and told how to use them for treatments but are rarely taught how to use them for themselves. The course provides a simple approach that reflects the original way of working with different energy states for your own development and also to give students the opportunity to really become familiar with the different energy states and there characteristics.

The Intuitive Approach

As you know, the courses blend the Western presentation of Reiki with approaches from its original form. The afternoon session focuses on learning and practising a technique called 'Reiji Ho', which allows students to open up to the energy and their intuition, so that it guides your hands to the right places to treat. So instead of using 'standard' hand positions, you move beyond that to gear your treatment towards the recipient's individual energy needs. You will learn to send Reiki in a focused intense way, you will find out how to beam and radiate Reiki, and how to send Reiki using your eyes or breath.

The Audio CD's

The Second Degree course is accompanied by two audio CD's one that contains commentary from Taggart King focusing on the main points of the course and the second provides all the guided meditations from your First Degree course plus two more for your Second Degree course, this CD has been produced by myself and contains a recording of the precepts in Japanese for you to meditate on if you wish to. You won't forget what you were told on the course because you can hear it all again at home! The guided meditations take you through a Distant Healing session and some special symbol meditations. So instead of fumbling around trying to read the instructions in your manual while trying to keep in the flow of it, you can simply flip on the CD, close your eyes, and follow the instructions. Your meditation will flow all the more easily because of this, and you'll learn how to do it without having to try too hard!

The Course Manual

Each course is accompanied by a comprehensive manual, which covers everything you learn on the course and more besides. During the course you can relax, safe in the knowledge that everything we do is there in the manual for you to refer to whenever you need to. The manual is written by my Reiki teacher Taggart King who kindly allows me to reproduce the manual for my students.

The Certificate

All courses are accompanied by a certificate, in this case confirming that you have received training and have been initiated into Reiki 'Second Degree'. The fee for the Integrated Reiki Practitioner Course 'Second Degree' is £170. A £60 deposit is required to confirm your place on the course and is non-refundable. Full payment in advance is required for the Home Study and one to one courses.

Ongoing support.

Once you have completed your course you will be able to keep in touch with me by phone or email. This means if you have any problems or simply wish to talk about your experiences or exchange ideas you can. It also means I can keep you updated with any new ideas or information that I may receive. You will be able to receive free empowerments once a month to boost your connection to the energy and any other help you may need. You can also receive a distant empowerment every Sunday. You will be able to attend Reiki shares every other month, where Reiki people can get together to exchange experiences and ideas and swap treatments with each other. You will have the option to join the ReikiEvolution Internet support group. Providing an ideal place to share experiences and exchange ideas with lots of like-minded people of all levels. I believe that long-term support is crucial to training as a Reiki practitioner. Nobody knows everything there is to know about Reiki and you and I will continue learning for the rest of our lives.
